  1. I have a very rare and strange form of arthritis and I'm wondering if you have seen cases of this--it's called pallindromic rheumatism. When I had it diagnosed over 15 yrs ago by a rheumatologist he took out his textbook and copied the one paragraph about this condition and gave it to me. I have had flare ups over the years (but none in over a year)--last summer, my husband's knee was so swollen he couldn't move. After MRIs, tests for lyme disease, gout, etc etc I told him to tell the rheumatologist it was PR (which she laughed at) but it went away and never came back! I know this is a real disease but it comes and goes so if you don't actually have it when you go to the DR they think you are making it up (and all tests come out negative!)
